i have no idea if anyone reads this blog anymore!
anyway, even if it's just me - here's a song for me that i only just discovered that i love and i think will be a firm favourite of mine for many years to come.
thanks me for finding it!
a mix of english and swedish language songs. she co-wrote adam lamberts 'welcome to the show' but her solo version on here is far superior. if the title track had a video i'd have posted that but instead i'll post the song which first grabbed my attention (love singing along 'BA! BA!)
released in 2010 but only discovered by me this time last year - this album is probably my most played album of the year. wonderful on every level, every song is great. her speaking/singing captures everything i imagine her to be like. i cannot recommend this enough
the queen of danish gloom-pop returned triumphantly, this time with an english language album (as opposed to her usual danish release followed up by an english version). it's a shame she seemed to get sidetracked after one single release. this meant the best song 'liquid courage' never got the chance to become a huge hit (gaga would kill for this song).
she just snuck in at the end of the year - it's been a long wait since her last album from 2010 and this e.p.carries on exactly where that left off. there's been no change in style or sound - just reassuringly wonderful
this is everything really good scandinavian pop should be - bubbling electro synths, hypnotic loops, interesting lyrics, steel drums (a nod to the knife surely?). a welcome return after a 5 year absence. and 'heart of mine' has been played a lot in my house/car/phone
i only ever mention another blog if it is really, really good so it brings me a lot of pleasure to tell you that after a long hiatus that spiked candy has returned to entertain us with her (mostly) french sixties obsession. it's got great articles, top playlists and some great new videos of chantal k, chantal g and stella. check it out :)
